I-CAT Dental Imaging (CT Scan)
3-D Imaging – A Technological Breakthrough In Diagnosis and Treatment
At Dr. Sporborg’s office, we use a state-of-the art I-CAT cone beam 3-D dental imaging system. The I-CAT provides high-definition, in-office, three-dimensional digital imaging at a reduced cost.
Benefits of using a 3-D Imaging:
- A 3-D image of all oral and maxillofacial structures that can be fully manipulated for the best diagnostic information possible.
- About 100 times less radiation than a traditional CT scan done in a hospital.
- Patient is seated in an open machine instead of being enclosed (see image below).
- Measurements are much more exact with no magnification error.
- TheI-CAT scan allows for better dental implant placement and prosthetic outcomes.
The Standard of Care Has Changed
Patients today are entitled to an accurate diagnosis and more control over their treatment plan. Dr. Sporborg will review your scan with you on a large monitor and discuss your treatments options in depth, allowing you to choose the option that best fits your personal needs.
A Myriad of Applications/Referrals
The I-CAT has applications for every dental specialty – Implants, Trauma, Congenital Defects, Endodontics, Orthodontics, TMJ Studies, Pathology and more. If you have been referred by your current dentist, we will provide them with a copy of your scan for their records. This copy will be viewable with any PC (software is included on their copy CD with instructions) making it easily accessible.
